Today we are going to talk about the importance of being versatile as a tour manager.

Tour management is already a tough job. You have to handle every single thing outside of playing the show and interacting with fans. It is a serious amount of work and you need to remain sober, focused, and composed all the while being able to multitask a hundred different things, while also ensuring your drummer doesn’t do something stupid (it’s always the drummer… or bassist).

However, unless you are working for an A or B list musician, chances are bands are going to need you to handl...

Hello everyone!

I am done with a VERY busy weekend. I had four shows this past week. Saturday was the largest show I had ever done, in bands (10 bands on the bill!) and in show attendance. Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday I had the pleasure of hosting Seasons After and Gears on their ‘Lost In Space’ tour. Great guys to work with and know.

Today, let’s talk about the importance of having an image.

What does Cradle Of Filth, Twisted Sister, Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy, Marilyn Manson, and Slipknot all have in common? They all have a specific image for their band. For this particular post...

So here’s my rant for the day…

Bands, you need to stick to your word! Ever wondered why no one takes you seriously as a musician? Maybe it’s because you don’t take your own music seriously.

In these past couple months, for whatever reason, I have had more bands drop shows on me last minute than any other time in working in the music industry. I have no idea why but bands are dropping off shows left and right and it is royally pissing me off! Not only are you disappointing me, you’re disappointing your fans who were excited to see you perform, bought tickets from you, scheduled...

Last night I had the great pleasure of hosting a show with Skylight Heights, Too Hard To Breathe, Steal The Day, and Lies Behind Your Eyes. Skylight Heights and Too Hard To Breathe are on their ‘HowBoutDaht Tour’. After their set I had an awesome conversation with Skylight Height’s vocalist, Sammy Jo Justice. That conversation sparked this blog post – Promoters: Necessary Evil or Evil?

First, understand I am a promoter and therefore biased. Of course I think I am necessary to the industry. I like to think I offer fair deals too. Though, some band, somewhere, would disagree.

Howdy everyone! Today, I’m going to let my readers into my life a bit by talking about some of my favorite bands. Three in particular.

1.    1. Cradle Of Filth

Cradle Of Filth (COF) has easily been my longest favorite band. I first got into them when I was about 13 years old with their album Damnation And A Day: From Genesis To Nemesis. COF introduced me to black metal (back when they qualified as black metal). From them I discovered Dimmu Borgir (another all time favorite), Dark Funeral, Old Man’s Child, Venom, Immortal, and more. After Damnation And A Day I found Midi...
